Our volunteers make a real difference in the lives of people with disability across Melbourne's north, through language support, community programs and everyday assistance. Whether you have one hour a week or ten, and whether you bring a second language, a skill, or simply time and warmth, there's a place for you here.

What you should know
Volunteer roles are unpaid and don't create an employment relationship. All volunteers need an NDIS Worker Screening Check and a Working with Children Check before they start (people under 18 don't need a Working with Children Check). You don't need them to apply, and we'll guide you through getting them. Some roles involve driving participants in your own car.

Completing the form

  • Open it on a computer. Adobe Acrobat Reader (free) works best. You can also print it, fill it in by hand and scan it as one PDF.

  • Type your answers, tick the boxes, and sign at the end.

  • When finished, go to File, then Print, and choose "Save as PDF" or "Microsoft Print to PDF".

  • Name the file RDS-HR-VOL followed by your name, for example RDS-HR-VOL - Jane Smith, and upload it below.

What happens next

We review every application and match you to a suitable role. If we'd like to move forward, we contact your referees, then invite you to a friendly chat. Before you start, we verify your checks and you complete our volunteer induction. If there's no suitable role right now, we keep your application on file. Thank you for wanting to make a difference!
